Parochiefeest in Amersfoort (NL)

Amersfoort, 25.09.2016:

De viering van het eenjarig bestaan van de Antiocheens Orthodoxe Parochie in Nederland
Zijne Eminentie Metropoliet Isaac Barakat, Metropoliet van Duitsland en Centraal-Europa, vierde de Goddelijk Liturgie ter gelegenheid van het eenjarig bestaan van de Antiocheens Orthodoxe Parochie in Nederland op zondag 25 september 2016 in Amersfoort. De dienst werd gevolgd door een gezamenlijke maaltijd en een ontmoeting met de gemeenschap van de Parochie.
Zijn Eminentie heeft ook de genodigden van de plaatselijke kerken in Nederland en ambassadeur Dr. Ghassan Obeid, de vertegenwoordiger van Syrië aan het Internationaal Gerechtshof in Den Haag gesproken. Tenslotte heeft Zijn Eminentie de dag afgesloten met een ontmoeting met de Parochieraad.
De volgende dag had Zijn Eminentie een bezoek aan Mgr. dr. Johannes Harmannes Jozefus van den Hende, de bisschop van Rotterdam, Voorzitter van de katholieke bisschoppenconferentie in Nederland.
Op de weg terug naar Keulen bezocht Zijn Eminentie het Griekse Orthodoxe nonnenklooster in Asten. Daar heeft de bisschop een bezoek gebracht aan de graf van Moeder Maria, de oprichter van de klooster. Zijn Eminentie heeft later geïnformeerd naar het werk en de publicaties van het klooster en in het bijzonder de liturgische publicaties.

His Eminence Metropolitan Isaac Barakat, Metropolitan of Germany and central Europe, celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Antiochian Orthodox Parish in the Netherlands on Sunday, September 25th, 2016 in Amersfoort. The service was followed by sharing a common meal and a meeting with the members of the Parish .
His Eminence also met guests of the local churches in the Netherlands and Ambassador Dr. Ghassan Obeid, the representative of Syria to the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Finally, His Eminence concluded the day with a meeting with the parish council.
The next day, His Eminence visited Mgr. dr. John Harm Annes Josephus van den Hende, the Bishop of Rotterdam, President of the Catholic Bishops‘ Conference in the Netherlands.
On the way back to Cologne His Eminence stopped by the Greek Orthodox monastery in Asten, where he visited the tomb of Mother Maria, the founder of the monastery. His Eminence has subsequently informed about the work and publications of the monastery, specially the liturgical publications in Dutch.
